Sheffield day trip

Thursday 23 August 2018

A day trip by train to visit some superb pubs in Sheffield. Drinking here is always an excellent day out!

Changes to travel arrangements. Book your ticket to Sheffield via Stockport and meet at Chester station in time for the 11.02 train to Stockport, where we change for the train to Sheffield. It is the "slow" train to Manchester, which stops at Mouldsworth, Altrincham, etc. See below for ticket info. On arrival just after 1pm we will have a drink in the Sheffield Tap, then catch a tram or bus to KELHAM ISLAND, where we will visit a few pubs including Kelham Island Tavern and The Fat Cat. Tram or bus back to the City Centre for a couple more pubs and return to the station for journey back to Chester. TICKETS: a). "Normal" ticket, Chester to Sheffield return is £43.60 or £28.80 with Railcard. b). If you buy separate tickets; Chester to Stockport and Stockport to Sheffield, this reduces to £22 with railcard if you only use the train via Altrincham and £26.10 if you want any route which allows you to go via Crewe. c). Optional £2.65 ticket to use the Trams and buses but check when booking, this may only include bus travel. (PlusBus) Please email ku.gro.csacarmac@slaicos if you are definitely coming on the trip. We’d like to know how many people to expect so we can provide a pub map for everyone.

Cheers
