Large L – shaped bar with quiet dining area at one end of the entrance and a more public bar at the other end where locals congregate. A real fire warms both areas in winter. The bar, located by the door displays 3 hand pumps with 2 regular ales usually from Thwaites and an ever-changing guest. (Regulars can choose from a booklet of ales, one for each season) French windows from the dining area lead to a covered outside eating / drinking area next to the landscaped car park. Real ale in a bottle is also available (wheat beer at the time of this visit). Substantial and varied meals, available until 9:30 pm along with bar snacks at lunchtime, tempt diners. The Sunday lunches are very popular.
